Colchester Farm Community Supported Agriculture Page 3 2005 Annual Report
2005 Member Survey Results
Every year CFCSA conducts a survey of its members who receive vegetables so we can improve our offerings the next season. In 2005, 52% of our members returned their survey with all sort of suggestions and comments. (Of those who responded, 47% were first year subscribers, 35% had been with us for two years, and 18% had subscribed for three years.)
In 2005, our members told us that quality, quantity, delivery, presentation, selection and variety all improved from 2004 to 2005. We asked everyone to rate our offerings on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest rating possible.

"You folks are working hard to provide us with better and better veggies. Thanks-a-million."
Community Supported Agriculture programs are not for everyone. Although we work to provide as much choice and predictability for our members as possible, adjusting to the rhythms of a CSA can be daunting.
Some respondents said “we got a lot for our money” and that we had “exceeded expectations.” Others said the CSA was “not economical” and that the pickup and delivery times were “too inconvenient.” Interestingly, when we ask our members why they join the CSA, the majority cite their “desire to support local agriculture” and “concern for the environment” as well as their “desire for local produce.”
So, our members are loyal for a whole host of reasons, including the good taste of our food, as one said “you guys are doing a wonderful thing and I am so happy to be a part of it. Having options like this is just wonderful!”
